Hello. Check if you have access to aria2c command. It's a brilliant replacement for wget ad it does support SSL. If you need my assistance, like getting you a statically compiled binary or compiling aria on your host without root access - just let me know. Thank you.

Hello. I have several ideas. E.g. if your server has some modern enough language installed it's not hard to make a simple program to download a file from https. Or if it has a gcc installed I can just build (without root access) a more modern version of wget for your use. Let me see your server and I'll tell you if one of these will work. EDIT: Another idea is to make a trivial web service which can download a file for you then offer it over http. It's more complex but a possibility too. EDIT2: Or I can just build you a modern wget on my Linux PC and send it for your use (no installation with root required either). Still I'll need to see your server to check if it's even possible to run a modern wget there.
