Make an extension in opencart work with journal theme

Requires knowledge of Opencart, Journal theme, vqmod I have an extension built for the default version of opencart, i use journal2, id like it to be modified to work correctly as the styling is broken and, the extension dosent seem to work, it dosent show the download when an order is created, but if i put .xml_ to disable the vqmod and clear the cache, the download shows.
