I would like a car dealership website created that can have templates plugged into it.
There are some specific features that I would like, and there are other features that you can be creative with.
To make the dealership skinnable, you could use [login to view URL] It's an open-source project used to join backend code to a template.
I would like this dealership designed with one template, with more templates to be designed in the future.
I'd like control panel that can update/edit pages, add vehicles, edit vehicle listings, allow certain vehicles to be featured on the homepage, publish vehicle listings (to ebay, autotrader, CARFAX Hot Listings, craigslist, oodle, Google Base, and Froogle)(there should also be an export history so dealer knows which cars have been exported where so they don't send the same car twice to the same spot) create newsletters, and create printable coupons.
With the edit/update pages, users should be able to edit text in the website. They should also be able to have a 'quick select editor' like the one found at [login to view URL] under the control panel option. That editor is found under 'setup' then 'quick select editor'. You can use that control panel as a benchmark of how to make the control panel look. I don't want all the features there, but I do like the way it's set up and I like some of the options there.
The site templates should be very similar in style and features to the ones here [login to view URL]
*the pages should be about that same width so they can be used as ebay listing templates if possible.
*the website template should also be the basic layout for the newsletters.
The newsletters could be created with phplist. I'd like the newsletters to be integrated into the control panel if possible. The newsletter signup should have the name and email as mandatory fields with other optional fields such as address, whether they're a previous customer, what kind of car they're looking for, when their last oil change was. Then have an option for them to recieve an email when their oil needs to be changed (just make that email come automatically every three months). Whether or not they choose that option, they will still get an email periodically from the dealership. The phplist/newsletter should be kind of like a customer relationship management system. Also, in the control panel newsletter section the dealership should be able to easily create a newsletter and have it sent out in html automatically. There should also be an option to add another email manually from the control panel and manually edit customer info from the control panel.
The site should be search engine friendly.
If possible, there should be a way to capture bidder's contact info on ebay as well as when people 'ask seller a question' That contact info should go into phplist's database.
The site should have:
Home Page - coupons should be displayed here
Inventory Display - there should be a browse vehicles bar that lists only the makes/models in stock. Coupons should also be displayed here.
This section again should be very similar to the websites found at [login to view URL] including having contact/shipping/warranty/financing information. The contact information should also have google maps plugged into it. I'd also like to have the 'get your free carfax report' option for each car. Also, there should be a 'send an inquiry form' that's quick and easy to fill out. The form's info should be emailed to the dealership's email address and an autoresponder sent to the one who filled out the form just saying something about 'we got your inquiry and we're working hard to get you the information' and then have the contact info for the dealership there again.
Dealership Info - about us section, dealership tour section and meet the team section
Financing Info
Warranty Info
Shipping Info
Newsletter signup - newsletter 'archive' if possible
Terms of Sale - like [login to view URL]
Request a Vehicle - users input type of vehicle they want through a form and the info gets emailed to the dealership
Trade-In form that users can submit information about their car to get trade-in value like [login to view URL]
Testimonials - if possible
Tell-a-friend in inventory page
*contact info for the dealership should be displayed on most, if not all webpages.
You can be a little creative with the layout. But I want it looking clean, professional, and friendly. You should use those sample websites at [login to view URL] as a benchmark. It should be VERY close to that kind of look. Maybe even the same.
The code must be cleanly written.
I would also probably hire you again for more jobs if I need to update/change anything or need more templates designed.
I know these are a lot of instructions, but I hope that by being clear, there should be fewer misunderstandings. If you have any questions, just ask.
