Os-commerce Customisation with Search Criteria Options: I have made a start, creating an E-commerce site using Os-commerce; take a look at this site: [login to view URL] I am designing this site to sell digital equipments like projectors, screens, lamp, CCTV. There are 8 product categories altogether (could be more at a later stage) and Projectors category is one of them. Refer to [login to view URL] screenshot: the Projectors category (first link on the left menu) will have many attributes and possible search options criteria. In this example, the sub-menus ‘By Price, By Resolution, By Brightness and By Manufacturer' are basically attributes of Projectors category. So the user can refine the search by hovering these attributes like search options and select the attribute type. The attribute type of ‘By resolution' are ‘SVGA, XGA/ WXGA and SXGA' (notice that the SVGA attribute type is being selected in orange colour). So once the SVGA option is being selected, the search returns all SVGA type projectors. Now let us look into ‘By Price' attribute. In this search option the ‘By Price' has price range as the third menu as: £0-£499, £500-£749, £750-£999, £1000-£1999, £2000-£2999 and £3000+. So if the user selects the ‘£500-£749' price range, the search returns all projectors between £500 and £749 regardless of make, resolution, brightness and so on. In effect, the ‘Projectors' is the only category without sub-category and it goes straight into the search options under 2nd and 3rd menus. The other rest of categories have sub-categories. For example, login to [login to view URL]; you will notice that ‘LCD/ Plasma' category have 2 sub-categories (LCD and Plasma) before it goes straight into the attributes. LCD and Plasma will have 2 attributes each, ‘Size' and ‘Price'. I have not defined the attributes for these yet on the live site. I am sure you get the idea now. I have already got the advanced search module in place if you click on ‘search' link, you can see it. So this project is to create the 3 levels php dynamic navigation system which corresponds with this advanced search module. Put this way, the 3 levels navigation system will make the site more user-friendly. To explain this, please take a look at this sample e-commerce site, also selling projectors and other digital products: [login to view URL], click on ‘Projectors' link from the left menu and you will understand what format of display I want here with the category product attribute links on 2nd and 3rd menus. Basically, I require this sort of Os-commerce customisation, product attributes with search criteria template system which allows me to create such navigation structure/ menu by whatever attributes I defined from the parameters of the admin backend. I looked into the possible modules and contributions from the Os-commerce official site but I could not find anything there to solve this problem. That is why I need a customised solution here. I am always open to suggestion if you have better idea to tackle this project and perhaps from programming point of view. Also, please also consider the following requirements for this project: 1) The navigation system should integrate with the Os-commerce and work with any additional categories or sub-categories I add and whatever attributes I add or define from the backend for each category; it should reflect the change at the frontend as I have mentioned above. 2) Here is an issue, take ‘LCD/ Plasma' category as an example and if let say there is no Sony make (out of stock) then this attribute should not be showing in the frontend display for this specific category. Considering the fact that Sony products may exist and, which will be displaying in other categories. 3) All attributes links i.e. ‘By Price, By Resolution, By Brightness and By Manufacturer' and other ones etc must be dynamically generated (database driven). 4) All source files must be supplied to me upon completion of this project. I require log of work done with detailed record of what files have been replaced and what new files have been added to the standard Os-commerce core files including any SQL modification and any other script being generated. I require step-to-step instructions. 5) Initially, the menu navigation will be collapsed until the mouse is hovering over it. In terms of styling, please refer to both (attached in this post) [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] screenshot images. I want it just like that! I require CSS control. I need to be able to select different colours background for each part of the navigation system (sub-categories menu and 3rd menu) including the font links size and colour etc. The CSS file must be clearly commented. 6) At the admin backend, I need to be able to add, edit and delete attributes for each category and subcategories. Price range and resolution are bit tricky; there must be a type of admin form where I can enter the range value. Same with the brightness attribute for projector category with the following brightness range values: 0-1499, 1500-1999, 2000-2499 and 2500+. Make the backend flexible because other attributes may require entering the range values. I will supply all the attribute names. 7) I will be adding attributes using the ‘Product Extra Fields' at the backend, which I have already installed. The ‘Product Extra Fields' has its own table in MySQl. 8) Regular updates are required for the demo, making sure everything is in the right track! 9) I prefer the work/ project to be carried out on a testing server first. Once the project is completed with all my requirements fulfilled including the fully functional php dynamic menu and search criteria and attributes, then it can be integrated to my live site. 10) With this type of project and for the winning bidder, I would prefer msn or skype correspondent. 11) The wining bidder will be rewarded with ongoing works/ projects if the project is completed successfully and to my satisfactorily. I need a reliable and honest programmer whom I can build long term business relationship.
