I currently own a website that buys electronics, similar to these sites ([login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL]). It is made with Joomla/Virtuemart but it is so highly customized that I haven't updated in 2 years. I have Joomla 1.5 (now they have 2.5/3) and Virtuemart 1.1 (now they have 2.0). Now I have 2 options: 1. Create a new site from scratch, using a new CMS, or using something like codeigniter 2. Upgrade my existing setup to the latest versions. Here are my questions/requirements: If you think I should upgrade my existing setup (Joomla/Virtuemart) to the newest versions, instead of creating a new site from scratch, please quote to me how much this will cost. I have many customizations done so it won't be a simple upgrade, but I'm sure it can be done right? If you think I should start a new website from scratch, please let me know what the best option would be, should I create a completely custom site? Should I use a new ecommerce platform (magento, bigcommerce, os-cart, zen cart, etc?), or should I do a new install of joomla/virtuemart? For the options listed above, please quote a preliminary price, and then if I like your bid I will contact you privately and discuss more details. I am a very serious buyer, and I want this completed as soon as possible, bid confidently as I can pay through credit card or paypal!
