I'm looking for someone to develop a Database for a website. The database will contain contents from the CIA's World Fact book. It will be broken up from Continents/Countries/States,Provinces,Territories(all carry equal weight)/Most populated and traveled cities... Also it has to have room for manipulation to add cities, and i'm gonna also want to add stupid facts about each country like population and stupid stuff like that and this all has to be able to be pulled from the database onto a webpage once someone click on the links, IE if someone clicks on the map and then to europe and the to england, out comes the england home page with the facts that are in the database plugged into the website and basically the database is needed to be able to readily search fairly quickly through a search bar incorporated into the site....i'm looking to develop another site like [login to view URL] but with different intentions and not as much B.S. facts as they have, i need that database but they wont call me back i order for me to try and buy it from them I have no preference between Oracle or My SQL, i just don't know which one to use or which one would be more beneficial...

mysql is the best choice for small to medium databases yours maybe getting to the point where postgres would be database of choice or oricle more expencive. But MySql can take alot I have absolutly huge databases running. the trick is to organize you data properly and keep it optimized. I will create this database for you for 50.00 if you want the site delveloped around it 150 if you want me to imput all of the data 400 and I would be available for next project as well

What you described is easy to realize. For the support you have requested, mySQL will excel. Oracle is a lot of money (35.000 USD/proc or something) and what you need can be accomplished easily with open source. I can create this for you as long as you have the space to host such a project. This is a huge amount of data, and would require a large amount of disk space. I would prefer MySQL. PM me for examples of other projects.

hi i will be able to make the database design and install the same to your site and give you guidance for the same till your website is working. Mysql is a better choice as Oracle will turn out to be expensive. We could also consider postgress as the database. I am experienced in both of them. Optionally i could develop the whole site for you for 1200$ inclusive of domain name and space. I also design mobile enable website for viewing through the mobile phone. Alternatively i develop mobile application for querying the internet. We could have a moblie application that can query your database and get response on to the mobile phone.
