I need to compare and analyze many archaeological ceramic assemblages from different sites. So, I need help to do an application, (under, matlab, python, use your imagination ) to create data such as Smith et al. 2012 made. The method for analyses ceramic profiles from 2D illustrations that are digitizatilized (scanning) of published raster images and vectorization (conversion of raster images to vector representation of ceramic profiles) They say that: "Since both the final output of both the 2D- and 3D-derived profiles is a mathematical representation, they can be directly combined into a fully comprehensive analytical environment" And this is the aim of the project. For the aim we need that: digitilized sherds that could be incorporated into the cluster analysis through an automated system. It could be accomplished through the use of executable MATLAB functions that both perform a series of quality inspections on that data and compute new cluster matrices for the database allowing BLAST-like queries But different from Smith et al. 2012, I don't need the 3d data analisys, neither the publication support. Just need the analisys of a an .svg profile with his associated metadata to create clusters and trees. If we have success we gonna publish the results and you gonna be part of it.
