I have over 25 years' international marketing experience in the high tech & IT (hardware, software, services) sectors for companies ranging from start-up through to multi-national enterprise. During that time I have written many go to market strategies which delivered excellent results (35% revenue growth in a market growing at 2% YoY against a target of 8% and maintaining 50% market share, so growing the overall market not just increasing share).
The steps that I take to complete a project are as follows:
1. Firstly I review what you have today
2. I then arrange a Skype meeting with you to discuss what your aims and objectives are for your business, what success looks like, key verticals that you believe you have a USP in today and so on - basically I ask a lot of questions as the better I understand you and your business the better the GTM strategy.
3. I then research any gaps, look at competitors, market analysis (to see which verticals are the lowest hanging fruit, which segments are the most profitable).
4. A SWOT and SMART goals are sent over to you for approval - I've not yet been off tangent but always like to check.
5. I draft the competitor analysis, PESTLE, buyer personas (by vertical segmentation, by DMU role), marketing communications strategy, product / service USPs, key messaging traits
6. The first draft is sent over to you
7. Based on your feedback I finalise
If you have any questions then please ask,
