I'm a mechanical engineer - specialized in the industrial robotic field, 3D designer and modeler (from time to time and some projects I could make the functional prototype too). I'm doing product design, industrial design, reverse engineering, ideation, etc. I have over 15 years experience working on various systems/devices across multiple industries, from concept to launch. 1 - do you want to have just the machine redesigned or also the cups? 2 - (personally) i think the design could be a lot much better :) and attractive for the clients... 3 - as far as i could tell, the machine uses a linear actuator with limit switches for the ends of course, and the actuator provide quite significant force (see how the cup deforms under the force of the pusher) more details to be discussed in chat...
