DNS Expert Needed
$25-50 USD / hour
We use BGP4 on our edge routers, have an ASN and an IP allocation, and are looking for an EXPERT in IP allocation / DNS configuration, to assist with the initial settings at the associated Regional Internet Registry for our delegated IP blocks.
Please don't get in touch if 'you know quite a bit about DNS' - because we all do; what we are looking for is someone who ALREADY does (or has) worked at this administratively high level, and has experience of e.g. configuring / maintaining ASN assignments, objects, contacts and rDNS etc. This is our first delegated block and want to make sure it is done properly at the start, hence seeking assistance from an EXPERT.
Ideally therefore, you already have an ASN of your own, or are one of the registered maintainers for one (and can supply that as proof when applying)... else you have previously (or do now) work at an ISP in a similar role, and again can demonstrate this.

>>> We want to confirm the IP geolocation tags, public/private TXT files, and other settings are correct <<<
>>> We user PowerDNS for our name servers, so you should be familiar with any peculiarities of that when creating secure records / delegations <<<
>>> We would appreciate some guidance on sub-netting the blocks, or in getting two sets of PowerDNS servers to work together under two sets of automation, to share the blocks <<<
You will also need to provide a written record of what settings were chosen, and why, for our future reference and ISO compliance reasons.
Ideally we will provide you with a remote desktop access to the registrar though one of our administration machines, so that it is recorded (for ISO audits and compliance, etc).
This is a role that may well repeat as we add new IP blocks and require the configuration and ongoing maintenance duties.
