Design photo layout pages (abt. 100) for printed family genealogy book

Interior Book Design: Freelance Opportunity for portions of design. Designer must use Microsoft Word for the MAC Assistance needed to complete a family history book to be self-published. The book will be large (potentially around 900 pgs.), hard cover, 8.5 x 11, with dust jacket. No ebook will be produced for this title. The book consists of 17 chapters. After each chapter, there will be several family genealogy trees (already constructed in Excel, about 50 across the 17 chapters) and a series of gray-scale photos (about 475 across the 17 chapters), each photo accompanied by a caption. The book is being formatted using Microsoft Word for the Mac to create a PDF that will be sent to publisher. Publisher not yet finalized. Type fonts have been selected. Tasks that need to be done are: 1. Over 300 of the 475 photos are color and need to be converted to gray scale with output in jpeg. 2. Individual pages for each chapter’s photos need to be laid out and created. Each page will contain from 1-6 photos, depending on nature of the photos and length of captions for photos. Some photos may need to be resized as appropriate, depending on photo content and page layout design. 4. Captions for photos need to be incorporated in the appropriate photo pages. All captions have been written in MS Word and vary in length from a single name to a more extensive paragraph. 5. Work must be done in such a manner that I can go in and edit as necessary if additional changes are needed before submission to publisher. Optional: If interested, I will also consider talking further about freelancer completing all remaining internal formatting. It is imperative that the Freelancer know and use “Microsoft Word for the Mac”. This is the platform that I use, and I do not want to have to learn a different application. I appreciate that Microsoft Word for the Mac can be quirky and challenging when it comes to formatting interior book paging. Timeframe: Immediate turnaround not required. I am still editing. I would like the project completed within the next month. The photo conversion tasks can be started shortly. Thanks for considering this project.
