Hey I will build the site keeping in mind your all requirements including functional and non-functional requirement.

So, I thought up a basic sketch. although, it would have been better if you had said what type of blog it is. I was thinking along the lines of a slider depicting with the images of the hottest or most read articles. I'll link the blog to your original site. A way for users to sign up to receive email notifications(This would be helpful because this would always refer readers back to your page and increase views). then below slider on the home page, a list of topics that link to pages with articles. The articles would have the usual time, author name and all that. Then for the rest of the home page, the about section that talks about you. This is just a sketch, it can change depending on what you want and what kind of site it is.
