I have here in my house an old enciclopedia that has 5 volumes all inside a book/box very similar to your attached file called "aaboxset2" but with thiner materials. It doesn't have to be so think to look old, it's all about textures and color. This adding some great design, typography and textures will look very good. There are a lot of die-cut options for the DVD disc so that wont be a problem. I have a really good taste for design I can send you a photo of my books in the chat, please contact me. I'm a mechanical engineer - specialized in the industrial robotic field, 3D designer and modeler (from time to time and some projects I could make the functional prototype too). I'm doing product design, industrial design, reverse engineering, ideation, etc. I have over 15 years experience working on various systems/devices across multiple industries, from concept to launch. 1 - i'm thinking to a plastic box, with the adjusted dimensions as per dvd size, but with the same shape as a luxury book, with removable/detachable labels, eventually as a side service - engraved with the collector name, or whatever info will want 2 - the box could work as a drawer or as a case with the hinged back, and a slim latching device 3 - on the face/back could have a "windows" where the owner to write the dvd in the case, for easier search 4 - few different other addons could be designed 5 - with the existing technologies, you may develop several editions: regular (with the regular plastic in different textures), collector (more luxurious materials/plastics), princeps (covered in natural leather) we could discuss more details here...
