I am looking to find all the subsidiary companies for all the Fortune 1000 companies. For example, I need to know that United Technologies (NYSE: UTX) has subsidiaries or business units named UTC Aerospace Systems, Otis Elevator Company, Pratt & Whitney, and UTC Climate, Controls & Security (Carrier).
I will supply a list of Fortune 1000 companies and their websites/URLs. You will take that list and go find all the subsidiaries, business units, and divisions.
Many Fortune 1000 companies do not have significant numbers of subsidiaries or separate brands. Example: Apple. Other companies, however, do. Example: Berkshire Hathaway.
You need to research those companies' websites and find the subsidiaries, business units and divisions and deliver them back to me in an Excel spreadsheet. I will also supply an Excel spreadsheet with the data I need from each:
- name of subsidiary and/or brand
- URL of subsidiary and/or brand (if different than parent company)
The Excel spreadsheet will be clear about how and where to enter that information. Add rows with the Fortune 1000 company name for each of the subsidiaries (see EXAMPLE on first tab of the attached spreadsheet).
The best way to do this will be to go to the company URL (provided in the spreadsheet) and then look for:
- about us
- corporate information
- our brands
- our websites
- global divisions
- press releases/analyst statements
... or similar language ...
