Hi, I'm a South African editor/proofreader currently living in Guatemala. Having worked in the South African educational publishing industry since 2001, I've proofread and edited hundreds of children's books. My work is thorough: I not only look at spelling and grammar but also at lay-out issues and that the illustrations work with the text. (E.g. if the text says that a character is wearing a blue shirt, I check that in the accompanying illustration the character is indeed wearing a blue shirt.)
