Role and Responsibilities The project consists of porting a legacy application in VB6 to an ASP.NET MVC project with SPA features. Full stack development, adept at working in services, databases and frontend code. Responsible for reading VB6 code to extract form and functionality and rewrite it as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, C#, and stored procedures or EF. Responsibilities also include coding greenfield functionality in addition to the ported functionality as well as refactoring existing code to generate a modern new solution with consistent look and feel. Required Knowledge and Experience: • 3+ years extensive hands-on experience and deep understanding of .NET fundamentals • Good understanding of VB code • Proven experience with ASP.NET MVC, WebAPI, HTML, JavaScript/UI Frameworks like JQuery, Angular or ReactJS or Vue.js • Experience with REST, Soap /or WCF Web Services • Ability to analyse, comprehend and implement business rules Effective listening and verbal communication skills • Familiarity with relational databases, ideally SQL Server and Stored Procedures • Experience in Entity Framework • Experience with Agile methodologies and is a strong advocate of a process-driven software development lifecycle • Self-motivated • Good verbal and written level of communication in English & Spanish (80%)
