I Need Help Setting Up a Server Emulator.

First off, allow me to give you some background. I'm attempting to set up an emulation of a game from my childhood. In particular, 2 versions of the game. The 75th version of the game that was released over a decade ago, and the 176th version that was available only a few years ago. A lot of work has been done by developers with respect to emulating said game. With respect to the 75th version, the emulation project is entitled “Vana”, and in their success, the developers set up a Vana windows setup guide for any person that would like to set up a private server and enjoy the game. In addition, general information on the emulation of this game can be found within the forum found here: [login to view URL] Personally, I’ve gotten very close to the end of the process, reaching step 10. However, I’m having extreme difficulty building the Vana solution, and I’m bombarded with errors that are beyond my current comprehension. I myself have nearly zero expertise with respect to SQL, Visual Studio, C++ and the like. It’s possible that I made a mistake in previous steps within the setup guide. With respect to the 176th version of the game, I have been following a guide that can be found here: [login to view URL] Again, I’m very close to the end, reaching step 4, but am having trouble running the server, being bombarded with various errors. Obviously, more details can be provided. I’m at my wits end trying to set these things up, and I figured at this point it may be best to get someone more computer savvy than I to set it up for me. The goal for this project is to establish 2 private servers running the game so that myself and my friends can connect and play together. One private server will be for the 75th version, the other for the 176th. The server will be run from my PC. This is entirely non-profit and for the enjoyment of myself and my close friends. I need someone to help me set up this game on my computer, explain to me in layman's terms how the different programs work and are interacting with each other, and also establish the server in a way so that not only myself but also my friends can connect to the game and play together from the comfort of our homes.
