Hello, let me tell you how much i like your project - i'm a really big fan of creating webservices serving mobile applications. I've had several projects like that because i really think this is the way to organize the business logic layer into webservices serving any kind of applications (mobile, desktop, web-based). Okay, so first of all let me introduce the method i usually create projects like that: - first step is designing database layer and intergate it with the webservice - i usually do MsSQL (so if it is needed i can design the database for you) and use EntityFrameWork to implement the database layer - the business logic could be placed either fully in the webservice's C# layer and/or divided between c# and MsSQL (using stored procedures, functions and moreover trigger on the database server) - the final product would be a set of asmx pages thet serves the mobile application Secondly about the mobile client: - i understand that it is being developed - i have experience inintegrating webservices with mobile applications written is XamarinStudio or either in PhoneGap - I do like much better Xamarin, because like that we could use standard c# data(type)s for communication - but it is okay to convert the webservices output to XML/JSON if you are creating the mobile app in PhoneGap While developing i can provide you my own testserver for your android developer to test the webservice.

I have developed web services which has been used by Andriod and IOS devices. I used WCF REST for one project and Web API for other 3 projects. C# and SQL Server are the programming languages and database used respectively.

Developed Web Services for mobile app with previous employer. The Web Service was developed in ASP.Net (C#), SQL Server. The web services primary job was to push and pull data from/to the mobile app. The mobile app was used for presentation layer only.
