Looking for a simple MBR (Master Boot Record) back up and restore program with source code. Must be developed in C++, C#, Delphi or Assembler.
Working demo is required. It is important to do backup and restore MBR as fast as possible (on reboot).
The idea is to:
1) save original MBR (one time task) for example to the flash disk, external hard drive, remote location or burn it to the CD,
2) restore (overwrite) original MBR of the first hard drive on reboot, load and execute it.
3) Load OS immediately after that without 2nd reboot.
Only one reboot is required to restore the MBR of the hard drive.
OS (Windows XP) should be loaded as usual once MBR is restored.
One of the solutions (not necessarily right or the only one) is to burn a bootable CD, which has MBR with your executable code. Set BIOS settings to load from CD; CD MBR restores HardDrive MBR saved on CD disk; CD MBR transfers control to HardDriver MBR and loads it.
