My wife and I are due to redesign our ground floor. This will include knocking down the existing single story conservatory and building an extension to make a large open plan kitchen/diner/ family area. I am struggling to see the woods for the trees so need some inspiration, ideas, and pointers as to how this could be done. Current idea is to knock down the wall inbetween the current kitchen and dining room and build a single story extension outwards to 'double' the kitchen/ diner space. We'd like to keep the lounge seperate but can move doors into the lounge and kitchen. We definitely want to go for a modern look for the extension and kitchen unites etc. I require some ideas of building and room layout. This could include ideas on styles and colours but I don't need full architectual drawings and calcs. Ideas only please.
