In case you'd like a rough idea of what I'm looking for regarding the paragraph that's due Friday evening, here is what I had to submit to the teacher for the grad certificate class in Conflict Resolution that I took. This is what I submitted to my grad certificate prof for my topic proposal:
For my final paper, I would like to analyze the parking conflict in Chantilly between the Pleasant Valley neighborhood and the Hindu temple. To be upfront, I live in the P.V. neighborhood, but my house is far from the affected area so my husband and I don't have strong views one way or the other about it. In fact, we suspect there is underlying prejudice involved on the part of the homeowners who live near the entrance closest to the temple. We've been following with interest the articles in the neighborhood newsletter, but I'd like to learn more about it, especially from the Hindu believers’ side too. They have some info posted on their website, for starters, and I know there have been newspaper articles about it as well as an online blog (I know that's not a scholarly resource though).
