Hi, and thanks for posting this project. Sounds intriguing. Another Beowulf and Grendel? I would love to work with you on this, but I want to point out that if you’re planning to have Old English dialog put into a script, you may want to consider otherwise—unless your producers can read it.
Check out the writing sample “Screenplay Ghost Writing 18711577” in my profile. You can see in this one-page example how this is typically handled in the industry, substituting Russian instead of Old English.
During your production, the actors would be trained to speak Old English and the meaning of their dialog would be translated on the screen as subtitles for the audience to read. Before that happens, it makes a lot of sense to help your reader as much as you can.
You, of course, can do as you please, but my experience in pitching to readers and executives is they don’t want things slowing them down when they’re reading a script.
And coming across Old English will stop them cold.
If I haven’t pissed you off, and if you are still reading, please take a look at some of my other writing samples and consider this: at no cost to you, I will look over a five-page sample of your script, mark it up, offer gentle, helpful comments where appropriate, and then return it to you.
This will give you a chance to see if you think my work is suitable for your project.
If not, no harm done. Either way, I wish you the best in your endeavors.
