We’re a small startup based in Australia that offers digital wedding planning tools for brides. Our goal is to help busy brides stay organised, stress less, and help them define and communicate their wedding vision to vendors and anyone involved in the wedding. We are looking for a talented writer to join our team to create original content to help answer questions brides might have along their wedding planning process. Topics might include: Wedding Budgeting Engagement Announcement Ideas How to Cut Down on Your Guest List 10 Questions to Ask Vendors Before Hiring Them Wedding Etiquette In your application, please specify which topics you feel most confident to write about and why. Please elaborate on this section so I know that you know how to follow instructions. Blog articles will be shared/promoted across our social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, and pictures from the post will be shared onto Pinterest and Instagram. We’re looking for someone to write 1600~2500 words, 2 articles a month, on wedding related topics. Articles must be original, not copied (must pass Copyscape), and ready to be published. Content should be engaging, informative, and helpful. No fluff pieces. Images must be sourced legally (ask original photographer for permission if necessary), and chosen wisely. You must agree not to re-use, re-spin, or re-distribute any of the articles. Target audience is newly engaged women between the ages of 25- 34, English speaking, somewhat tech and social media savvy. The ideal candidate for this position will have prior content creating experience and is knowledgeable about the Wedding industry and/or has experience being involved in wedding planning. Required Skills: Excellent English reading and writing skills Excellent spelling and grammar. A strong understanding of keyword search phrases and SEO A good eye for design Can source and credit images within the post. Knows how to craft deadlines. Wedding planning experience A basic knowledge of current wedding trends Ability to “speak” to brides from their perspective. Social media savvy - knowledge of hashtags and keywords. Ability to incorporate “keywords” into Pinterest descriptions and understand how and why they are important. Committed to producing quality over quantity. To be a best fit for this project, you need: Excellent communication skills, know how to receive and give constructive criticism. To be a self-starter and motivated individual Work well with deadlines and can follow an editorial calendar To be able to work well with a small team Attention to detail Willingness to sign an NDA Graphic design experience is a plus, but not a requirement for this project. For the right candidate, this project can definitely lead to an ongoing position.
