First of all, I have to say that I don't work with ATEM switcher nor Blackmagic Arduino shield before. If you're looking for someone with existing experience about that, I am not the right person. I only worked with Moteino dualoptiboot and RFM69 before.
Second, I believe that with the existing libraries for BMDPROTOCOL and Blackmagic, it is do-able.
The solution is:
1. Connect ATEM to a WiFi router. Alternately, use an IOGEAR Universal Ethernet to Wi-Fi Adapter or a cheap TP-Link TL-WA850RE to connect to the Ethernet port of the ATEM to convert Ethernet to WiFi.
2. Replace Moteino #1 by an ESP8266. This is 80MHz WiFi MCU with much more RAM to implement a nice web interface for any configuration. A RFM69 module is connected to ESP8266 as well.
3. ESP8266, via RFM69, send data to the 2nd custom build arduino-like board with RFM69 and then connect to the Blackmagic shield.
Another way is - if the range is not too far. The ESP8266 can also talk to the 2nd ESP8266 via WiFi and we can get rid of RFM69.
Limitation of my solution:
- The custom board must be built to make it nice and compact.
- The library BMDPROTOCOL might need to be modified/ported to work with WiFi.
If you have any question, pls let me know.
Pls notice that my cost just cover the software development and the circuit schematic design. To design and make PCB or prototype board + shipment, additional cost will be applied.
You'll need to work with me to debug as I don't have ATEM nor Blackmagic.
Thank you,
