The goal of the project is to use numerical methods to solve one or more engineering problems and to document your solution strategy, methodology, and analysis in a research paper. To that end, the first step is to understand the problem domain of the potential project(s). You do that by reviewing case studies, technical reports, and professional papers related to the subject matter. Use the textbook Numerical methods for Engineers to perform computer-aided calculations. The end-of-chapter problems exposes some of their applications. Chapters 8 and 12 contains various case studies. how we are going to submit it There will be four deliverables: Deliverable 1. Research paper initial proposal (moved to 10/30) Deliverable 2: Dataset, Data Analysis, and Mathematical Modeling Deliverable 3: Deliverable 3: Research Paper Draft Discussion Deliverable 4: Deliverable 4: Final Research Paper Is it going to be a comparative study of some kind It could be but I prefer not to since then it won't be about solving an existing problem or improving it. On either case, I would need to see the proposal first. The minimum condition is that the comparative review itself must use numerical methods. or are we going to take a problem and attempt to solve it ? This is the preferred approach. One common strategy is to improve the mathematical model of an existing solution, update the methodology accordingly, add your own twists, etc. Sometimes the previous author hints on potential improvements for other authors to try. It can also be any problem you can think of that leads to calculations that can be solved using numerical methods. Or we have to analyse existing methods/algorithm using a programming language The existing method or algorithm will most likely be listed in pseudocode or actual program code. Then you can decide to keep using pseudocode for your solution, or use another language altogether. On either case, you must be able to understand the original algorithm in the language it was written in if you intend to improve it.

I have experience in numerical algorithms, solutions of equations, systems of equations, numerical differentiation and integration. I make scientific reports in IPython and Python programming language. I can develop the theme 13: "Safeguarded zero-finding methods", where I will include the development of the problem and the program code.
