Edge detection and image processing

• Edge detection is an image processing technique for finding the boundaries of objects within images. It works by detecting discontinuities in brightness. Edge detection is used for image segmentation and data extraction in areas such as image processing, computer vision, and machine vision. Note that in the Literature Review chapter you will provide a detailed discussion of the background and the related work. • Aims and Objectives The aim: • Should describe what you intend to achieve by doing this piece of work. • It is similar to the problem definition. The objectives: • They are the tangible outcomes that you should complete in order to achieve your aim. • They should be realistic, consistent, and link them to methods, timetable, and outcomes. • Methodology It should explain the following: • The procedures or the technology you plan to use in order to solve the problem? and why? • Discuss briefly the technical background relating to the procedures or technology you plan to use in the proposed work. • Project Timeline • Cite the estimated time or time spans (months or weeks) for each phase of the project. • Usually as a Gantt Chart following the system development life cycle. • Team Qualifications • It is like a mini-resume contained in the proposal. • Lists the work experience, similar projects, references, training, and education that shows familiarity with the project for each member of the team. • Conclusions • This is where you will explicitly state how your proposed research will advance knowledge. • What are the far-reaching effects? • Will your study potentially change practices or policies? • References • Reference all: • Recourses • Claims • Facts • Use the IEEE Citation style.
