I’ve always been passionate about photography. Images tell a story – instantly.
That’s what attracted me to ‘Fleet Street’ and a media career that has spanned over 30 years. From the “gutter press” to the best of it’s kind, the Financial Times, I’ve covered, in one capacity or another, some of the most memorable moments in recent history - From Royal weddings, sports and celebrities to the fall of the Berlin Wall and New York’s Twin Towers. And from Barings Bank, Lehman Brothers and the global financial crisis, to the rise of Silicon Valley, Tech Hubs, Social Media and all things App!
Strong visual elements are key to the communication of a company, its operations and its people. Sixteen years at the FT, the last six as Head of Pictures, before leaving to pursue a freelance career, has provided a specialists insight, not merely to what media, corporates and private investors desire in terms of images, but how to create and utilize these vital assets in order to serve the myriad of purpose that companies in todays business environment require.
While still consulting on both print and web use for pictures at the FT, my experiences in todays media world provide a unique position to advise corporates on not just the value and relevance of their existing media libraries, but also the creation of new content in order to maximize their media and investor worth, be that investor relations, web content, corporate communications or news release……….No Picture – No Comment.
