QT Serial port optimization

I have written a small program to read out Serial Data from a ECU using QT5 and QT Serialport . However when i test te software with the ECU i do not always get a response back from the ECU . I tried to use a delay but this only helps partially .
It looks like not every message is received completely . I would need someone to improve the serial portion of my code .
