I need a driver solution for a PIC based project. The chip in question is a PIC24FJ64GB204 and I want to use the built in peripheral to provide a very simple communication link to a PC. The hardware solution already exists. There are lots of samples for both the PIC code and Windows code to do this on the Microchip website. I need someone to pull these together and produce a functioning link. The link needs to simple send and receive bytes of data much like a serial port. Deliverables will be a Windows driver (existing Microchip examples are fine) and PIC code (existing examples are fine). It needs to be tested and working on the above PIC or a similar device from an appropriate family that has the same USB on board peripheral. Ideally tested using ICD3. A simple echo test will be fine - send bytes from windows, PIC receives, simple modification (say add 2 to byte code) and return to windows.

Hi, as you can see from my previous feedback on Freelancer I have done some good work developing in c / c++ both on Windows and on Linux. However till now I have not done yet, for Freelancer, any work on embedded devices/micro-controllers. But I have some good experience in that field too. So I am interested in improving my feedback on Embedded Software / Firmware Development. Currently I have an ICD3 Debugger/Programmer, and some samples of the PIC24FJ256GB110 microcontroller. That I think is quite similar to what you requested. In case it does not fit your needs, I could order exactly the controller you use, and refine the development on it. Till now I have already done some work on Pic USB connections, but only on Microchip 8 bit controllers ( PIC18LF26J50 ) but I think I could manage to do it also on 16 bit controllers. If you contact me I could start doing some preliminary work even before you award the project to me, so you would see how I work and then decide. Thanks for your attention Ciro

I could have done it for less, however your bid range prevents me to do so. My Project duration is 25 days cause I am not sure why one would pay this money to pull examples off Microchip website. Thus keeping options open to do a bit more. I am not a Fan of the Microchip PC side example as they are not maintained as the embedded side. Sometimes they use VB, then C#, Visual C and QT Framework. Which is good enough for proof of concept but I need to work on something that I can give long term support for. So I would be working on either VB or C# for the PC App. It is best to work with the USB PICs in the HID mode which is apparently "DRIVER-LESS" (All OS have them inbuilt). So I am not going to build a driver. Best Regards Sougata

Hello, i think i have the required skills and experience for the task you propose; I have specific experience in portable devices design and manufacturing; sensors development and management, embedded systems for medical devices, wireless-based human metrologic data transmission between sensors and man-machines system interface; please see my portfolio, all that we have designed and built is now on the market. I run a small team of designers and engineers to provide that projects are performed on time and cost effectively. Our laboratory is equipped to test and optimize applications on Nordic systems, besides to BeagleBone, Arduino, Raspberry, and in general on AVR microcontrollers, Atmel, PIC Micro, Intel, Texas Instruments and ARM. i can provide a fully functional prototype also, other than technical documentation and CE/US certifications. Post design assistance is provided with no additional charges. Thank you for your consideration. Kind Regards

I will do this project by including a chip to enable u communicate via USB the same way u communicate via serial UART. U can easily plug ur PIC to ur computer USB and the computer will automatically recognize it as a USB device and give a virtual COM port, that enables u to send and receive command using serial port programs or terminals.

Hello Sir/Madam, I have Pic24F Started kit which has 24FJ256GB106 controller. I have successfully downloaded and tested the source code published by microchip. I have tested the application (firmware ) with simple USB-CDC class by sending and receive data from PC using a generic serial port monitor software. But, the USB drivers is tested for WinXP OS and needed to be tested for other OS. I can help you to modify the code as per your requirement, if more details are provided. Also I can show you the working demo on PIC24F starter kit before actually starting the development job.
