Two logos and two graphics (illustrated key visuals ) for our „Kindergarten “ / children’s daycare centre

We are the Paritätische Sozialdienste gGmbH in Karlsruhe and one of the voluntary welfare associations that are part of the German social welfare system. Unlike other competitors, we are nondenominational and act locally in Karlsruhe, Germany.

### About the project ###

Both of those websites have been using low-res logo/illustration for years that do not fit modern standards and cannot be used as we want to. That’s why we want to keep the best from both and need
- Two logos for both daycare centres, one each.
- Two illustrations / key visuals for both daycare centres, one each.

### First, some background information about the Karlsruhe Palace and why our daycare centre is called „am Schlossstrahl“ ###

The Karlsruhe Palace is one of the local landmarks, Karlsruhe itself is famous for the fact that everything around the palace was planned with geometric garden areas and roads. So those roads are like sunrays which radiate from the Palace. Palace = Schloss, Ray = Strahl. So basically „Kinderhaus am Schlossstrahl“ is the name for our daycare centre because it’s right next to one of those roads radiating from the Palace. You got it, right? :)

### Things we are unhappy about with the current „logos“ ###

- They are more like illustrations
- They don’t look great in greyscale (sometimes we need to use that, yes)
- They don’t look great if we print them bigger than a few centimetres because they are pixel-based
- There is too much text information / visual information –the location shouldn’t be part of a logo
- The Schlossstrahl logo doesn’t show a Schloss=Palace. In fact, it shows a Burg=Castle. :o

### Things we liked and wish to keep, if possible ###

- They look friendly – both show some children
- The Schlossstrahl-Logo has a local reference
- The KiFaz-Logo shows parents, children and a bird. The colour blobs are truly authentic – those have been real scans with „finger colours“ – we can deliver high-quality scans within 2-3 weeks if necessary.
- The illustration style of both logos (Castle, Fingerprint figures) could still be used at separate key visuals – that’s why we want to keep those ideas as key visuals and use them separately.
- Maybe those key visuals could be used as a black-white colour illustration to be painted by children.

### Things we are totally okay with ###

- The new logos might fit but don’t have to fit into our new corporate design (logo “Paritätische Sozialdienste”, orange as the or one of the main colours, “Candara italic” as the font)
- The new logos could but don’t have to look related to each other in their style. That’s because we often need to use them side-by-side as part of job offers or if we talk about children’s daycare centres in general.

- 1 vector-based logo (figurative mark + word mark)
“KiFaz Kinder- und Familienzentrum” (no further text)
- 1 vector-based logo (figurative mark + word mark)
“KiSs Kinderhaus am Schlossstrahl” (no further text)
- 2 key visuals (with the idea of both former graphics) in high-res (printable on a DIN A1 format e.g.) vector-based or pixel-based/mixed if necessary for the fingerprint idea
- optional the Palace key visual as a version to be colorized with crayons by children

As the judgment time has arrived I would give you a few tips to be safe and get what you require.
1. Don't Judge based on mockups, those wall-mounted logos look good only in the pictures and when you receive the final design you will regret it. Please judge logos submitted on plain backgrounds only.
2. Many people use images off google and elements from Canva in these contests which are copyrighted content and you can get into trouble. Make sure the design you choose is custom-made just for you and isn't just copy-pasted.
3. A tip to identify these copy-pasters is simply they comment in this clarification board section with a lot of different styled entries back to back which is not humanly possible to create these many unique designs this fast, and are usually just copy-pasted.
