I am a comedy magician looking to have a flyer created for ongoing use. The flyer would come with the ability to change the date, time, address, and venue as necessary. what I envision for this project is somewhat vague, which is why I need some creativity on your part. I envision a caricature of my face on a cartoon-esque body superimposed on a playing card. My stage name is The Dean of Hearts so it would make sense if it was a play on the King of Hearts playing card, maybe with a 'D' on the corners instead of the 'K'. The character would be in some magical or comedic pose, possibly with a card fan or magic wand or something (maybe with a plate of food that he's just made 'vanish' by eating it?)? I see a little sandwich board sign next to the magician that says Master Magician with the word 'Master' crossed out, as a kind of comedic advertising (maybe the word 'mediocre' written over the crossed out word 'master'?). The name of the show is also not completely set in stone, and i'm open for ideas that are catchy and fun. There doesn't have to be a 'name' for the show per se, it could be something as simple as comedy magic show or something like that. I'm fat, and my show kind of plays to that theme so 'fat and funny' may be included or alluded to, although not necessary.
I've included a few pictures of my face (a few features that stand out - my nose, my birthmark, and my dimple on my chin), as well as me in a black shirt, white tie, white suspenders and kangol hat (Flat cap, newsboy cap, etc). That ensemble is my character so that would be a necessary element of the caricature/body. I've also included some random jpegs that were catchy to me in my search for ideas/inspiration. In no way am I saying to incorporate any or all of them, but it gives you kind of an idea of what is out there, and things that I thought were at least esthetically pleasing (but incomplete!!! : ) ) If you look on the [login to view URL] website, their cartoon drawings of their magicians are also very nice and may provide a little inspiration (see the live lectures section).
I hope that I have, at least in part, painted a little bit of a picture of who I am and what I am looking for. I'm excited (and nervous, for that matter) to see what you folks come up with.
