Contest Brief

Background
We have been commissioned by one of our very good customers to create a luxurious tea cosy (a jacket which goes over a teapot to keep it warm) for his wife for her birthday. This will cover her very beautiful and expensive teapot (1.2ltr capacity - a fairly standard medium size). Unfortunately we do not have a picture of the teapot but believe it is similar to this but colour may vary: https://www.royalcrownderby.co.uk/teapot-l-s-36oz-102cl-1145/.


Challenge
To create a design which is distinctively elegant, beautiful and perhaps regal. It needs to be a beautiful object which creates a real wow factor and do justice to his wife's very expensive teapot and tea service.
It should not however have real jewels or semi precious stones, nor should it have gold or silver other than perhaps embroidery thread. The cost of making would prohibit such items.
The customer is in the silk trade so the design needs to have a silk outer and be nicely decorated - perhaps embroidered.
The cover should completely cover the teapot. Some designs have the spout and handle protruding but we want these to be covered.
The design scope should include both interior and exterior.
The design must be unique and not copied.
We need sketches or CAD diagrams with clearly annotated features, material and decoration in English. The sketches/CAD should include the front and side elevations as well as the top and underside.

      No it should be able to fit several teapots which may be slightly different size and shape.

    Hi.Thanks for your note. It is to fit a standard tea pot which is about 1.2litres. Please see the link in the specification as an example. You can also see measurements of cheap tea cosies on the internet. The important thing is the design. Measurements can be adjusted I think.
    An example might be (22cm(h) x 5cm(d) x 26.5cm(l)) but this is a rough guide. May be taller for example.
