Contest Brief

We are looking for a simple webpage online “ad space auction form” and output page, in html / php/mysql that will perform as follows:

The form will allow potential advertisers to bid on advertising spots, and the inputs to the form will show up on a webpage listing for each of 16 available advertising spots (image place holders), as 1) the names of the ten highest bidders and 2) the amounts the ten highest bidders bid for each ad spot for every day/date within a three-month period (The final bids for each ad spot will be accepted 7 days before the date for which the bid is placed).

Each time a new bid is placed for a spot, the list will be re-ordered, with the highest bidder on the top of the list, and the next nine bidders will be listed in order of the highest amounts bid, followed by the subsequently lower bids, with the 10th highest bid in the 10th position (for each ad spot)

1) Our client’s website front page has 16 equal-sized image holders (“spots”) for advertisements

2) They would like to sell advertising to fill each of these 16 images, as follows:

a) 5 of the spots reserved for “Instrumentalists”;
b) 1 of the spots reserved for a “Vocalist”;
c) 1 spot reserved for a “Conductor”;
d) 1 spot reserved for an “Orchestra”;
e) 1 spot reserved for an “Duo or Ensemble”;
f) 1 spot reserved for a “Composer”;
g) 1 spot reserved for a “Musical Product Supplier”;
h) 1 spot reserved for a “Musical Service Supplier”;
i) 1 spot reserved for a “Music Festival”;
j) 1 spot reserved for a “Music Competition”;
k) 1 spot reserved for a “Master Class”;
l) 1 spot reserved for a TMA "Professional" Level Member

* Only TMA Members are allowed to advertise. If they are not a member, they are redirected to a page to join TMA.

3) The time periods available and prices to advertise in one of the sixteen available spots are as follows:

a) One day (24 hours) … Price= Highest Bid: Minimum bid for 1 day is US$ 10;
b) One week (7 days) … Price= Highest Bid: Minimum bid for 1 week is US$ 60;
c) or One month (30 days) … Price= Highest Bid: Minimum bid for 1 month is US$ 240;

(See excel Attachment) The Output Page (showing the results of all of the user inputs into all of the forms on the website should include a 90-day Calendar which updates every day to the “next” 90-day period. In each “daily square” on the calendar, the latest “highest bid” should be shown (if there are no bids, it should show $0 in those squares). Every time a higher bid is placed for each calendar “daily square”, the new “high bid” should be updated.

At midnight, 7 days before the date on which bidders are bidding, no additional bids should be allowed to be placed, and 1) the words “Final Bid”, 2) the US$ amount of the highest bid, and the 3) bidder’s username shall be listed in the calendar square.

* To bid for an ad spot, a bidder must pay $1 via PayPal or a major credit card.

There should be 16 links near the top of the output web page (1 link for each advertising spot), and each link should redirect to a separate calendar, each with the functionality outlined above.

* We are looking for FUNCTIONALITY more than design, although your code should us to ad styling to the page around your code. (If you add design and style too, it is will certainly be in your favor) (See the excel attachment for the style that we have in mind)

* If you win the contest, our client has several website and app projects, for which they will hire you at your normal rates.

We posted an excel spreadsheet which will give you an idea of how we are visualizing this project.The excel spreadsheet is a work in process ... if you have better ideas, Go for it! :)) The spreadsheet is an example of just 1 of the 16 advertising spots (Ad Spots) ... so there will be 45 more tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet (each remaining Ad Spot with Sept-Oct-Nov worksheets) + the index page will reference links to each Ad Spot. YOU WILL ONLY NEED TO WORK WITH THREE WORKSHEETS and turn them into working webpages. WE CAN THEN DUPLICATE THEM for the other 45.
